    Was one of the pioneers to the Modern Dance. Weidman was an American Ballet, Modern dancer and choreographer. Started dancing with the Denishawn group around 1920. By 1928 Doris Humphrey and Weidman would establish their own school. In 1933 he choreographed Candide which became the first full length Modern dance production and become the creator of kinetic pantomime.

    Weidman taught Ballet and Modern dance at Bennington School of the Dance in 1938. Miss Humphrey retired from dance in 1949, and Weidman would continue to teach and Operate his own studio at 934 Eighth Avenue in New York until his death.
