Sherie North

Stage Name

Birth Name

Sheree North Dawn Bethel

Sheree started dancing around the age of ten with USO Shows, by thirteen was dancing in Musicals at the Greek Theater and while still in her teens she would model as well as dance in nightclubs and a few screen loops as well as becoming a Earl Carroll girl. She would be married when she was fifteen years of age and shortly after had a child.

Her big break came when she was spotted in a performance on Broadway in the play 'Hazell Flagg', which was later done as a movie with Sheree and Jerry Lewis entitled 'Living It Up' in 1954. Sheree and Lewis did a wacky Jitterbug type dance number right along with other swing dance legends as Dean Collins, Jack Carey etc in the movie.

Her movie career was to be as a blonde sexpot which the studios would try to have her replace the famous Marilyn Monroe. Sheree would later drop the dumb Blonde type roles and find a more dramatic role more her style. Sheree has made more than 52 Screen appearances during her career.
