Canterville Ghost

-- Synopsis:
     Based on Oscar Wilde 1887 story of the " The Canterville Ghost." This is the story of how Sir. Simon de Canterville (Charles Laughton) through an act of cowardice is walled up in a room of his castle in the 1600's and is doomed to walk the face of the earth for all eternity unless a relative can commit an act of bravery to lift the curse from him. Moving on a few centuries arriving in 1944 where the castle is occupied by visiting soldiers involved in W.W.II (WWII) and low and behold Cuffy Williams (Robert Young) appears in the castle who also is a distant relative and is who he selects to relieve him of his fate.

Sir. Simon first tries to scare and then win over his cynical relative to help him.

* Features:

     There is very little dancing in this film, although it is a warm, fun and very good film for the whole family, especially during Xmas or Halloween. The Jitterbug scene at the end of the movie supposedly has Dean Collins doing a Jitterbug / Lindy at the end of the film with Margaret O'Brien (It really doesn't look or dance like him tho.) Shows some footwork / Rubberlegging, Boogie Backs, Truckin, etcetera. Also has two males Jitterbugging for fun.
