Romaiika The sacred Romaiika dance of the Greek's is a kind of death dance. It was the death dance of the last heroic Suliote women, who in 1803 threw themselves, singing and dancing into an abyss before the eyes of the Turks. The Romaiika consisted of the slow "prelude," zyganos, and the rapid choros (from Curt Sachs).
