The song dates back to 1921 by Cecil Burleigh. However the Novelette
was a ballroom exhibition type dance created by >Madeline
Northway and >George Chiles
and introduced at the Biltmore Hotel
in New York in 1927. color=The
routine they used was called 'They
Danced' and is also listed here, (click link). It was 86 measures
long and was danced to "The Doll Dance" song by Nacio
Herb Brown.
