   The Varsoviana is danced in New Mexico. Here are the directions as described in "Folk Dances of the Spanish-Colonials of New Mexico." by Helene Mareau, Eunice Hauskins and Aurora Lucero-White.

 

   And here is the special music too. Try it on your piano. We've described the Boy's part, but the girls part is just the opposie. Take slightly open ballroom position, the boy points his left foot forward, the girl points her right foot forward. The dance starts on the third measure of the music (photos 1-6).
