Myrna Darby was a bookkeeper in the prohibition enforcement offices in the House building of Pennsylvania¹ and was soon discovered by Ziegfeld himself at age 17, he put her in 'No Foolin' and she never looked back. Myrna, once hailed as the most beautiful of the Ziegfeld Girls and was mentioned several times as the most thoughtful and sweetest girls in show business. As with many of the Ziegfeld beauties, she did some modeling as well as magazine ads for brands like Lucky Strike Cigarettes.² She had a brother and 2 sisters named Floyd and Helen and Donna.

She died at the young age of 21 in the Bronx, Bronx County, New York due an acute case of 'sunburn and strenuous swimming' which caused an Inflammation of her heart, however, her serious heart trouble was diagnosed 6 months prior to her death.
