Bird 'Birdie' Millman ...
"Ziegfeld Girl," "the Queen of the Slack Wire," "the Eva Tanguay of the Wire"

Bird was a world class tight rope walker/dancer/performer who started at the young age of 8 and would become part of the Walker trio/troupe and Millman Trio. Later started getting noticed around 1905 and later still became the 'Bird Millman & Co.' Performed and starred in the Barnum and Baily/Ringling Bros. circuses for many years starting in 1913 who hailed her as "the most Charming, Captivating, Bewitching, Sensational High Wire Artiste in the World!." She was a specialty act on Broadway shows such as the Ziegfeld and Greenwich Follies.

She was well praised for her unusual speed and seemingly effortless graceful 'Aerial Dancing' in her high wire tight rope acts which sometimes used props for balance like umbrellas or parasols. Considered one of the best that ever lived and a pioneer of her art form.

She died at her mothers house in Colorado of uterine cancer. She was interred at Lakeside Cemetery in Cañon City.
