Anastasia Reilly ... "Ziegfeld Girl," "The Dream Girl"

Was dancing Tap professionally by the age of fourteen. Raymond 'Hitchy' Hitchcock discovered her in a neighborhood party in 1919 and immediately put her into his "Hitchy-Koo" revue. Later she would receive a call from Florenz Ziegfeld and featured her a spot in his "Follies" of 1921. Married into the Ziegfeld family thru Theodore Buhl.

After her marriage and upon retiring from the stage she started writing a column titled 'Grosse Exaggerations,' under the pen name of A. Pryor for several years for the old Grosse Pointe Review. When she heard that a group was about to start a new paper there she asked to have a part in the project. She also became very active at the local Children's Hospital there and was very well known as being a 'Cat Lady'. Anastasia died of cancer in 1961 at the age of 57. She was survived by her husband, by her mother, Mrs. Hattie E. Reilly, of West Palm Beach, Florida.
