-Billed as 'The Hungarian Rhapsody', originally a silent
movie actress from Hungary, signed with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer
and was billed as the 'The Hungarian Rhapsody'. Danced in
the movie 'Son Of The Sheik' as an Arab dancer. Banky had
Ballet training as a young girl and danced in a few of her
films. Her first talking movie was 'This Is Heaven' in 1929.
-Banky's career died with the advent of sound because
audiences found it difficult to understand her heavily accented
English. She retired from films in the late 1920's after
marrying movie star Rod La Rocque.
