before making the trek westward in 1940. He was visible in RKO's 'Too Many Girls' (1940.) Van Johnson made his Broadway debut in 1936 in 'New Faces of 1936'. He was Gene Kelly's understudy in the Broadway production of 'Pal Joey.' Johnson made over 130 Film and Television appearences during his career and is still active today (2002.)
