Specilty
dancers Tip Tap and Toe were a very successful Tap dance act during
the 1930s and 1940s. They would dance in a few movies as well
as nightclubs. Their act was mainly consisted of Tap dancing between
the three of them, showing off their different styles, while sometimes
dancing
on
elevated surfaces such as a table. Freddie James joined the group
later.

Tap and Toe are said to be the first Blacks to appear on the 'Chesterfield
Hour' in New York. Performed and toured with Claude Hopkins &
His Orchestra, The Ink Spots around 1947 and was to open for the
Tommy Dorsey band in Detroit with Frank Sinatra in 1956.
