Barbara Stanwyck Ruby Stevens

   Film actress, she was orphaned at a young age and raised by an older sister who was a chorus girl and sister of actor Bert Stevens. Barbara quit school at the age of thirteen and after working various jobs started her career as a dancer and became a chorus girl at age seventeen in New York. Started her Broadway debut in the 'The Noose.' Stanwyck made her film debut (as a dancer) in 'Broadway Nights' in 1927. Moved to Hollywood, California with husband Frank Fay in 1928 and entered films.

   Barbara made magazine advertisements for Lustre Cream, R.C Cola, Lux Soap, Dayton Cool Pillows, and Max Factor.
