    Joseph Santley was a very popular dancer in the early 1900-1910s. He is namely remembered today in dance for some of the dances 'he created' such as the 'Santley Tango' ( Really a One step) and 'Hawaiian Butterfly'. Santley's main partner was Ivy Sawyer who later became his wife. In Hopkins 1914 publication, he featured Joseph and Ivy in his book 'The Tango & Other Up To Date Dances'. Santley went on to act in many Hollywood movies (Over sixty.)

    Danced in many Broadway Plays and revues such as 'When Dreams Come True' with Harry Fox and Gaby Deslys in 1915. Brother of actor Fred Santley, son of actress Laurene Santley and stepson of Stage actor Eugene Santley. Santley passed away in West Los Angeles in 1971.
