Nancy Carroll

Stage Name

Birth Name

Nancy Carroll Ann Veronica La Hiff
The Blue Eyed, Redheaded Nancy Carroll started her career on Broadway before entering the motion picture business in 1918 at the young age of fourteen in "Riders of the Purple Sage," but it was a flop. Danced as a show girl on Broadway such as "Big Boy" at the Winter Garden Theatre.

Reentering the movie business in 1927 and finally making it big as a flapper, and by 1928 was making many films, she would continue on during the soundies in another successful film entitled "the Shopworn Angel" because she could also sing and had a pleasing voice (as well as cute.)    -She would play many roles from Flappers to comedians to heroines. Nancy retired from show business in 1938 with her last big picture being "That Certain Age." She passed away due to a heart attack in 1965.
