- Named after a train station by her
father. Myrna Williams made her Stage debut at age twelve
at Helena's Marlow Theater in a dance she choreographed,
which was based on "The Blue Bird" from the Rose
Dream Operetta. At the age of 13, Myrna's father died of
influenza and the rest of the family moved to Los Angeles.
She was discovered by Mrs. Rudolph Valentino dancing in
the chorus in the "Ten Commandments" at Grauman's
Chinese Theater at age 18 (1923).
- Myrna
started her film career in silents such as "What Price
Beauty" (1925). By 1936 she was voted and named Queen
of the Movies by the public and received an honorary Academy
Award in 1991. Her Hobbies were Sculpting and You guessed
it ... Dancing.
-Myrna would live to be 88
years old in 1993, in total she had appeared in a whopping
129 motion pictures.
