Local to New York, dancer Helen Clarke won
a local dance contest at Elizabeth Marbury's "Strand Roof
Garden" theater and was offered a dancing spot in "Nobody's
Home" plus a series of musicals held at the Princess Theater
around 1915.
Clarke was paired up with Quentin Todd. Todd
and Clarke went on to dance in more stage musicals besides the
Princess theater and actually became quite a popular couple in
these musicals. Their partnering lasted for many seasons together.
Later Helen would do mainly singing with Joseph Phillips. |
