As they say "Sex Sells" and the Flapper
or Jazz Baby of the 1920s started the "Sexual Revolution"
(or maybe it was a rebellion) that is still going on today.
The Jazz Baby would rid herself of the burdensome Corsets, Roll
her stockings, shorten her Skirts, "Bob" her hair (cut
short,) Smoke, Drink, Cuss, practice heavy petting and engage
in sexual encounters.
The most celebrated Flapper was Clara
Bow known as the "It Girl" with Louise
Brooks and the animated Betty Boop placing a near second.
The Flappers and their male counterparts would
change the bindings of the past. The Collegiate, Black Bottom
and Charleston were the dances they would love to do. The Hedge
code would curtail the movies from exploiting the evil doings
of the flapper, then came Mae West ... More to come...
