Powell started dancing as a child and
started her career on Broadway in the 1920's, she loved to dance
and was in Hollywood by 1935. She was called the 'Worlds Greatest
Female Tap Dancer' by the Dance Masters of America.
Powell did a dance called the 'Jig Hop' to
that same song title in the Broadway play called 'Fine and Dandy'
in 1930. In the Sensations of 1944, Powell did a Jivie Boogie
Woogie number with David Lichine. She retired in 1943 from
show business, but later did a short running career in nightclubs.
