Marjorie Elizabeth
Milsap |
Dorothy started her road to fame
at the young age of 14 and danced with the Orpheum Vaudeville
circuit. Lee was very athletic and had a very sassy personality.
Dorothy would team up with ballroom dancers "Fanchon
and Marco" who also produced theatrical revues. She was
soon doing seven-day bookings throughout California
Dorothy would later become part
of the very successful "Wheeler, Woolsey and Lee" comedy
vaudeville act. They helped popularize the "Cakewalk"
by including the dance in many Broadway type plays. (Similar
to Williams and Walker.)
Lee married Robert Booth who was
a successful Adagio
dancer. |
