Douglas Crane partnered with his sweetheart Ivy Payne, who were
married in the mid 1910s. The Crane's were a very successful West
Coast ballroom dance team.
-Ivy was a solo dancer before really
beginning her dance career in 1911 as an Egyptian dancer in the
show "Kismet." Douglas was also a successful portrait
artist prior to starting his dance career with Ivy. Ivy passed
away in the late 1970s and was the oldest and longest serving
member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
