   Was one of the Swing "Greats" of the swing era. Conducted his own band and was the main source for making the term " Jitterbug" a household name.

  His famous "Minnie The Moocher" song would lead him to fame and fortune when he forgot the words when performing the song and started add ad-libbing (Scat singing) Hi-De-Hi-de Ho. Frequent wearer of the Zoot Suit..."Heres a clip. Of Cab Calloway Singing "Geechee Joe" in in the film Stormy Weather.
