Lucille BALL

Stage Name

Birth Name

Lucille Ball Lucille Désirée Ball
Dianne Belmont

Raised by her Grandparents, and being a rambunctious child, started dramatic school as a child. Lucille Ball was originally a brunette turned blonde, but because there were so many blondes in acting, she dyed her hair red and stand out she did. Ball made many movies and was a avid dancer in many of them.

She mainly started as a model then as a chorus girl, later a Ziegfeld Girl  and finally becoming one of the Original Goldwyn Girls in 1933 "Roman Sandals" which launched her movie career and finally ending up a favorite Television comedian. Ball originally made movies for RKO Pictures, which later she purchased and owned.

While working the film 'Too Many Girls' in 1940, Lucy met Desi Arnaz, which she is

quoted as saying "It was not Love at first sight ... it took five minutes."

Lucy married the popular Cuban bandleader Desi Arnaz and starred with him in the popular Television series "I Love Lucy" as well as formed Desilu Productions in 1951 with him. They eventually divorced and later Lucy would marry Gary Morton in 1961.
