Sahji ... "poetry in motion."

Vintage Burlesque Shake and Quiver Dancer, Singer: Sahji. Was a dancer at the Famous Cotton Club in New York from 1933 to 1939. Said to be the cousin of Margaret Webb?. Appeared on the 9/1955 cover of Jet Magazine. Successful exotic Shake dancer who gave up Burlesque to become a singer in South America, then onto Canada and formed the Madeline Jackson Duo with George Taylor around 1952.
