| aka: Miss Japan Beautiful. The Ultimate Femme Fatale |
One
of many children, Tura was born in Japan but later moved to California
and was relocated to the west side of Chicago, IL. with her parents
as a small child after World War II. Her parents (before she
was born) had pre-arranged for her to be married. Around
1951, at the delicate age of 13 she was married to a Navy boy
of 17 which would only last for a whopping nine months. Over the
years Tura learned to sing and play the Piano which she would
eventually do in a few nightclubs such as the Brass Rail in Chicago,
early in her career around the age of 15. Tura later had her first
child at the age of 19.
After
a brief stint in Southern California and returning to Chicago,
Tura got a job at a club in Calumet City, IL. as a Spanish
dancer, it was shortly after this
she started her Burlesque career as a exotic dancer. Her Asian
beauty was unsurpassed on the stage where she would perform her
erotic dances which also consisted of acrobatics and humor. Tura
was also voted "One of the 10 Best Undressed for all time."

Tura
was not just a burlesque dancer she was a trained Martial Artists
which also gave her further Film and T.V. credits such as "Man
from U.N.C.L.E.", "Girl from U.N.C.L.E," plus others.
Tura performed for over eighteen years in many different nightclubs
throughout the USA up until she said "I got out of it when
it started to become raunchy and lost the art, now they call it
nude dancing, but its plain old pornography as far as I'm concerned."
Tura's
popularity really rose with the film "Faster, Pussycat! Kill!
Kill!" where she played the main villain in the film. There
was even a band who dedicated their name after her 'Tura Satana'.
Tura is still active in the entertainment industry and is still
making appearances ... but not as a stripper. |
