Realizing she could make more money nude she made the change.
Lili's stripping debut was at the Music Box nightclub. Lili was
featured in thousands of Mens magazines and was said to be married
many, many times. Her husband claimed that she and Marilyn Monroe
were having an affair (reportedly not true, they were friends
however).

Later
her fame rose above most in her field and Lili would even be on
trial in 1951 for "lewd and lascivious" performances.
The January, 1959 issue of Confidential magazine has an article
about when Lili tried suicide, it
includes 2 photos plus an additional one in a police arrest photo
with prison number.
She
finally retired from the business and focused
all her attention to her Lingerie shop on Melrose Ave. in Los
Angeles called "The Undie World of Lili St. Cyr."
