Glenn Miller Story DVD Cover
The Glenn Miller Story
"It was a time that changed the world ... And one man put it to music."

-- Synopsis: James Stewart plays Glenn Miller, the bandleader who rocketed to fame during the swing era. The Glenn Miller Story is a whitewashed version of Miller's life, but it certainly is a pleasant example of the feel-good Hollywood bio pic and somewhat tells his story. Basically hollywood's version of his life in his early years as struggling musician & musical arranger up to the time he joins the Army when war breaks out in WWII, although he doesn't have to go, he does, and in the end the ultimate tragedy. The ending is very heartbreaking but Miller's music is forever.

* Archie Savage and his dancers dance in this film. Colorado West Coast Swing dancer and others dance in the Jitterbug scene. This is a great film for the whole family.
