Synopsis: American girl Glenda Crawford
(Grable) on vacation in Argentina falls for wealthy racehorse
owner (Ameche). The plot centers around super-rich Grable, who
is buying horses, spends alot of time at the race track and falls
in love with the owner Ricardo Quintana (Don Ameche.) This was
also Carmen Miranda's film debut (as a singer) and Grable's first
starring role. The costumes are great, the wisecracking is funny,
scenery is good but there is not much " Argentina" to
speak of except Hollywood's made up version. This film is enjoyable
if you are a Grable or Miranda fan. This film was originally done
for singer Alice Faye, Grable wa her replacement. Nominated for
3 Oscars
