Heat Wave
(aka: Juke Box Jamboree) |
--
Synopsis: This musical was made to
capitalize on the popularity of calypso music and features some
excellent production numbers. It's about a small time record company
that gets bought out by a greedy jukebox company owner. The jukebox
guy wants to cash in on the calypso craze of the time. He blackmails
the record company owner by saying that he won't put any of his
records in his jukeboxes unless he gets to be a partner in the
record company. Musical chaos reigns for awhile, but eventually
everything is set right and happiness ensues.
