Synopsis: Look UP! Look OUT! Look
SWEET! - Louis Jordan's the Maestro with a Beat!. Of All the Louis
Jordan (1908-1975) made a series of low-budget musical comedies,
this is the best by far. An interesting look at Black college
life in the 1940s. This is a common plot in many movies of the
Musician or actor saving something or someone from peril. This
is the tale of Jordan returning to his old college to settle scores
with a rival and raise money to save the school from being taken
over by the scoundrel. A bit more story and better acting than
what usually appeared in Jordan's comedies.

Long
legged Dimples Daniels
does a dance number called " Lizzie Dancing" (whatever
that is?.) There is not much dancing in this film but is great
if you are a Louis Jordan Fan or searching for bizzare eccentric
dance numbers and dancers. |
