Second Chorus DVD
Second Chorus
" Fred's Best Yet! 'Cause He's Got Paulette! "

-- Synopsis: Rivalry of two trumpet players for a girl and a job. Trumpet players Danny (Astaire) and Hank (Merideth) play in trumpet in Danny O’Neill’s University Perennials. They vye for the attentions of pretty Ellen Miller (Goddard) and are taken-back when Artie Shaw hires the competent manager Ellen away from their college band. Nominated for 2 Oscars.

* This is a "swing" musical written for Artie Shaw's band with Astaire doing only two scene of his dancing. Mostly Astaire dances solo in this story but does have a good dance with Paulette Goddard to "I Ain't Hep to That Step but I'll Dig It." Hermes Pan and Fred dance together for the first and only time to "Me and the Ghost Upstairs" but was cut from the film.
